Estimating software for construction contractors in Québec

What the module does
- Three-step assistant: the client and the project, the type of work described in plain language, then a structure proposed by the AI from your price book — indicative prices to validate, never imposed.
- Builder by sections, sub-sections and lines, reproduced as-is on the PDF and the portal; drag and drop, discount, validity date.
- Internal margin per category or per item — never visible to the client; deposit required at signature, with an automatic deposit invoice.
- Optional lines the client ticks themselves, and good / better / best: three tiers side by side, one decision.
- GST 5% and QST 9.975% calculated separately on the pre-tax amount, recalculated server-side, client exemptions applied.
- Versions v1, v2, v3: the new one supersedes the old and carries its own link; internal approval above a threshold you set.
- LCCJTI signature on the portal, no account to create: signer, date, time, IP address and SHA-256 fingerprint kept.
- Automatic follow-ups at day 3, 7 and 14 on estimates left unanswered — switchable off client by client; "the client said no" closes and files it.
What it doesn't do
The AI proposes a structure and indicative prices: it doesn't know your job site. You validate every line — and a full price book makes it better.
Estimates are in French; English for client-facing documents is on the roadmap.

Does the client see my margin?
No. The margin is internal data: it applies per category or per item when a line is inserted, and the displayed selling price is computed. Neither the PDF, nor the portal, nor the signature page shows it — the client sees lines, subtotals, GST, QST and the total.
Is the online signature legally valid in Québec?
Yes. The signature complies with the Act to establish a legal framework for information technology (LCCJTI): each signature records the signer, the date and time, the IP address, explicit consent and a SHA-256 fingerprint of the signed document. The client signs from a private link, without an account.
What exactly does the AI do in an estimate?
It reads your description of the project and proposes a structure — sections, lines, quantities — drawing on your price book. Amounts are indicative and marked as such; you validate or replace them. The fuller your price book, the less it has to guess. Obvious contact details are masked before anything is sent to the AI.
